Wakanda Forever

When Ulysses Klaue and AIM launch an attack against Wakanda to steal its vibranium, the Avengers arrive to offer their support. Joining Wakanda’s king and protector, T’challa aka the Black Panther, and it’s lead scientist and T’challa’s sister, Shuri, the Avengers discover the wonders of Wakanda’s technology while working to stop Klaue’s destructive plans. Marvel’s Avengers: War for Wakanda expansion let’s players take on the role of the Black Panther, and explore the vast jungles of the technologically advanced African nation. Christopher Judge lends his voice to T’challa and shows off his range as a voice actor. If you were expecting Kratos’ now signature baritone (BOY!) you’re going to be disappointed. Wakanda as a setting is beautiful, but sticks to the jungle rather than seize the opportunity all the country’s settings have to offer. The actual play style of the Black Panther is also a let down as it hardly differs from other melee archetypes like Captain America or Black Widow. Though T’challa and Shuri’s sibling relationship has a charming story arc, the rest of the expansion is just more of the same basic stuff we’ve come to expect from this basic bitch Avengers game, ending in a boss battle that had me exclaiming “that’s fucking stupid.”
