Though it takes place after the events of Red Dead Redemption 2, the story of John Marsten really began in 2010’s Red Dead Redemption. Coerced by the government to hunt down his former gang brothers, John travels across the state of New Austin and Mexico meeting strange allies and deadly enemies. For its time, RDR stood as one of the best games Rockstar had made, as well as an amazing western tale for a modern world. Now, over ten years later, RDR is still the masterpiece that it was, despite its obvious age with clunky mechanics and old graphics. RDR is a game truly worthy of a remaster.
